Favorite Thing Wednesday: Neighborhood Moms PJ/Movie Party!

9 Sep

Whew, yesterday was a busy day! I did my usual things, but also got ready to help throw a neighborhood mom’s night out: movie/PJ party! We had the event in one of my neighbor’s gorgeous yard. We had a candy buffet and a popcorn bar.

I made these tissue paper flower that hung in the trees.Cupcakes!
My father-in-law set up the projector for us – what a nice guy!We had a PJ fashion show!
At the end of the night, we sat around her cozy fire pit and gave out prizes for the best PJs!
I found a wonderful site — Eat Drink Chic — that had free, downloadable lables. Aren’t they cute?It was a very fun night. A great way to celebrate the start of school!

Fudge, oh Sweet Fudge…

22 Dec

I spent yesterday afternoon making fudge — thanks to Prudie! She inspired me to make some for the kids’ church teachers. I ended up making Chocolate Fudge, White Chocolate Oreo Fudge, Butterscotch Fudge, Candy Cane Fudge and Peanut Butter Fudge. It was so much fun and easy!!! Go check out Prudie‘s recipe if you need a quick, easy gift for anyone this Season! I also found a wonderful Peanut Butter Fudge recipe from Alton Brown on the Food Network that I made — it is delicious! Here it is: Easy Peanut Butter Fudge

  • 1 cup butter, plus more for greasing pan
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 pound powdered sugar

Directions

Microwave butter and peanut butter for 2 minutes on high. Stir and microwave on high for 2 more minutes. Add vanilla and powdered sugar to peanut butter mixture and stir to combine with a wooden spoon. Pour into a buttered 8 by 8-inch pan lined with waxed paper. Place a second piece of waxed paper on the surface of the fudge and refrigerate until cool. Cut into 1-inch pieces and store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Have a wonderful day!
