Shoes Are Like Friends… You Can Never Have Too Many!

19 Mar
There’s a shoe party going on right now over at Beth’s {Stories From A to Z}. Come join up and show us your shoes!
Here are some of my favorites! As you can probably tell —
I love to wear heels — and I love a bargain!
These are my current favorites. They go along with my nautical fixation. I lusted after them at Anthropologie last year, and then in the Fall, found them in the clearance section — 75% off. Yay!!!
I found these at Target for $5! I love the t-straps and shiny patent leather.
Found these at Ross for $7. I have a black and turquoise skirt that they match exactly and I wear them with patterned tights. So bright and happy!
Aren’t these fun? I got them when a local DSW went out of business. Everything was 75% off of the lowest price. I think they were $8. I love the pattern in the front. I love to wear them with Jeans on date nights.
I got these at the same sale. Very sophisticated — also a great date night shoe!
These are from — Payless! One of my favorite pair of shoes ever! I love the tweed on the bottom, paired with the patent leather and bows! They have such personality! I wear them to church all the time.
Aren”t these fun? I got them at TJ Maxx, but they’re Diesel. I think I paid $20, but they were originally like $150. They are really comfortable for days when I want a comfortable shoe but also height.
I love these! Gold with a little metallic glam going on. Plus — RUFFLES! Such a cute shoe to wear in the Summer! Target on clearance — $8.
Summertime wedges! I love the cork heel. Again, Target — I bought them this year. So they are still in the stores.
Love these military-inspired boots. Target again. They are really comfortable!
I got these at that DSW sale. I like to wear them with a tailored denim skirt and a fun blouse. I think they were $6.
Tweed PUMA athletic shoes. They are so cute with skinny jeans. And comfortable for running the kids around. I got them at Dillards — 75% off for $12,
Some fab boots I love. Bought them off ebay, hmmmm, can’t remember the price, but it was a good one.
I don’t wear flats a lot — but these are my favorites! I also have them in black. I love the scrunchy flowers and the suede. I love to wear them with skinny capris and skinny jeans. I love the color too!
These boots were on clearance at American Eagle this year. Originally $70/pair — $8. And they are very comfortable!
I bought these at Target last Spring. I love the circle shapes and cork heels. Very cute with capris or skirts!
And there you have it — some of my favorite shoes.
As my family will tell you, I can’t pass up a good bargain on a cute pair of shoes!!
Go over to Beth’s and join in the party.
I can’t wait to see your shoes!!

If you see me on the street – just look the other way…

3 Jul

You know how I posted the other day about FitFlops? Well the overwhelming response was that they are a Fashion Don’t. I was at the mall in Seattle and saw these new shoes by Sketchers called Shape Ups. I know I am gullible, but I kept thinking about them, wondering if they really work. I looked online and found that there is a knock-off sold at Kmart called TheraShoe. They got rave reviews online! So I went over there this morning. Of course, my store was sold out of every pair. I finally tracked some down after calling 4 stores.

So instead of spending over $200 for MBT’s, or $100 for Sketchers, I scored a pair for $34.00. I tried them out tonight and they are so comfortable and bouncy. I can’t wait to take them out on the trail tomorrow.

If you see me – feel free to look the other way.
I also got 2 pair of their FitFlop knockoffs. They were on sale for $9.99!

Are you ready for the fourth? What are your plans?

Favorite Thing Wednesdays: dreamy window displays

5 May

What inspires you creatively? For me it can be a glossy magazine spread, my family, an HGTV show, or especially the beauty of nature. One company that really has inspirational, creative ideas is Anthropologie. I love their dreamy window displays.

And speaking of dreams, remember the outfit that I mentioned in the Friend Makin’ Monday: a girl can dream??

Well, I was in Anthropologie a few weeks ago dreaming, and I found THE SHOES in a clearance section. Regularly $170, mine for $29.00!I hope you have an inspired day!

_________________________________________________________

This week,I have so many favorites. I couldn’t narrow it down!

*************************

You know that I love Sprinkles cupcakes. Jeff brought me home 2 dozen from his trip (I froze 2/3 of them to have later). These are the special ones that they are making in honor of the Oscars:

Isn’t this tie cute? Michele a really talented blogger at Calico Daisy, sells these through her etsy store. I bought this one for Jeff and gave it to him on Valentines Day!

New Date shoes! I found these at Dillards for 75% off! Regularly $88.00, only $20!

New Spring scarf! I found it at Charlotte Russe ($8) — It’s nautical!
My sweet bird I won from Ambrella!

Wonderful painting from Marie!

Gelato!

And, my favorite thing this week: 15 year-old Smile!

What are your favorite things this week?

Favorite Thing Wednesday: Is it Spring yet???

5 Feb

I don’t know about you, but for me Winter seems to drag on forever! I think we had a snow day last year in April! Maybe I am feeling fidgety because of my trip last week, but I am ready for some warm weather.

Which brings me to my Favorite Thing for this week. I saw these at Target and I just couldn’t pass them up! And for $20 it gives me the hope that someday I will be wearing these babies, sitting on a lounge chair, sipping a cool lemonade. Hey, I can dream, can’t I?
{I love the cork wedge heel, the tan color and the fun circle shapes with the light stitching!}

{I love these because (again) the wedge heel and the color which is a really pretty red with a blueish undertone }

And now for my Un-Favorite-ist Thing:
If you remember my post a couple days ago about the toilet paper, you might appreciate this evidence I found this morning:

{Ella — “Mom, there’s no toilet paper!” Hmmm…..}{When I go in to investigate, there is a roll of unwrapped toilet paper on the table right next to the toilet... not actually on the roll.}

Also, I spent my afternoon putting together the project for Ella’s room and my Pay It Forward giveaway prizes. They are coming along and I can’t wait to show them to you on Friday!

Have a Super Day!

Thrifty Tuesdays: DSW Datenight Deals

13 Jan

What did you do over the weekend? Jeff and I went on a date night…. to DSW. (disclaimer: we did go to a very delicious dinner first).

If you’ve ever been in a DSW you know how the store works. Each shoe in the store has a colored label. The color of the label means a different percentage off the price. Red = 30%, etc. So once in the store, you took the percentage off, based on the sticker, THEN, took another 40% off and THEN another 70% off that total. So basically, nothing in the store was more than $15. And these were brand name shoes! Such a difference from Payless (which is where I usually shop) lol.

Here are my bargains:

The receipt is so funny. We bought 7 pair of shoes (3 for my daughter), we spent $68 and it says we saved $550.00!!!

(Remember those fabulous shoes I got for my birthday? Well, I ended up sending them back and now I ended up with 7 pairs for half the price of the first pair!)

Craaazy!
Have a Thrifty Tuesday!
