Favorite Thing Wednesday: Have you seen this website?

7 Jan

Do you need some cute things for a good price? Check out the 15-dollar store. Everything in it is 15 bucks. Of course, it’s no Anthropologie, but is anything in Anthropologie ever 15 dollars? This looks like a good place to get a few, trendy pieces. Plus, they have men’s, children’s and puls-size clothes. Here are my favorites:

Oh, if you missed out on my Pay It Forward Giveaway,
my best friend Chrissy is having one on her site today
as is my sister-in-law Jamie.
They are both new bloggers so go welcome them to the world of blogging
and if you comment you could win something great (they are both very creative and crafty!)!

Have a fantastic day!

Thrifty Tuesdays: New Glasses …. and a GIVEAWAY!

6 Jan

Remember how I blogged about a great place to get eyeglasses, like back in September? Well, I finally got around to ordering some from Zenni Optical. And they came yesterday! The total on two pair of prescription glasses, with non-reflective coating and shipping was UNDER $35 BUCKS! And they’re cute! And if you have perfect eyesite (so not fair!) you can pick out a pair and have them tint the lenses and they can be your one-of-a-kind sunglasses! Pretty nifty thrifty…

{Mine have a cool little design on the sides}

{Hannah picked out some that have little flowers on the sides – so cute!}

And now, on to the GIVEAWAY!

I was checking Wenderful’s site last night and saw that she was doing a Pay It Forward giveaway. And I won!

Birthday Shoes!

1 Oct

Look what my darling hubby got me for my birthday! It was almost enough to bring me out of my depressed-about-my-age fog! Remember? These were the shoes that I posted about on my blog a month ago? The “perfect fall shoe”?

Well, here’s my dilemma: THEY HURT MY FEET! Should I teeter around on them and try to be fabulous? Or send them back? I could pick up 6 pair of shoes from Payless for the same price as this ONE pair. But, they are cute…… HMMMM…… What to do?

Bargain Shopping for the Vision Impaired

9 Sep

As some of you know, I have spent a considerable amount of time this summer carting my kids around to get glasses and contacts, then going back to get yet more glasses after my kids lost the first pair. I was so impressed with myself when I discovered Costco’s Optical Department and saving myself mucho $$$ over going to the mall’s optical shop.

Well, this week one of my friends told me about a fantastic place online where you can get really cute glasses for under $20.00 per pair, including all of the extras like anti-reflective coating. You can even splurge ($5.00) and have them tint the lenses dark for prescription sunglasses!

The site is Zenni Optical. Here are my four favorite picks:

I was planning on going back to Costco to get a new pair for me, but now I might even be able to get two pairhooray!

Favorte Things Wednesday: Favorite Fall Shoes

4 Sep

I was reading one of my favorite magazines: Lucky the other day and I found some cute fall shoes. They are made by a company called Dolce Vita and are under $100 — still pricey, but maybe Target will come out with a knockoff soon. I don’t know how practical they would be to chase 4 kids around, but they would be cute for going out on a date with my hubby!

You can also find out what your shoe personality is by taking their test. Mine came out as Vampy, Mmmm, I don’t know how accurate that is...
