My Favorite Things Week — Luminess Air Makeup System {$350+value}

I’m having such a great time sharing some of my favorite things this week! 

Here’s my newest favorite — 

  The Luminess Air System!!  

My friend told me about Luminess and I knew I had to try it out! So I contacted Luminess and they sent me one to review. And, they also said if I liked it they would give one away to a Tatertots and Jello reader!

This is the type of system that makeup professionals use! 

The air that is brought through the system distributes makeup into a superfine mist that goes on evenly and looks so smooth and natural!! I have always had problems wearing foundation because it seemed to just sit on top of my skin. So I was so excited to try out this system and see if it solved my foundation problem.

When the box came I felt like it was Christmas morning! 

I had to open it and try it out right away!! I thought it might be hard to figure out and take a lot of practice, but it really wasn’t. And it also came with a great instruction book and an awesome instructional DVD.

The only thing I did was I applied too much blush. And after I talked to Emily at Luminess, she gave me the tip of applying the blush first and then the makeup. That way the blush kind of glows out from under the foundation.

 This is how it works: 

The Luminess system comes with an air compressor that forces air through a tube into an applicator. There is a funnel in the applicator and you add your makeup into that funnel. Then when you press the lever, the makeup is distributed into the air that is coming through the applicator and it comes out in a super fine mist. I also love that this Pro system’s compressor has three different settings. So you can decide what level you want the air to come out. I prefer the lowest setting.

With with the Luminess system, I don’t have to use powder. The mist dries in a matte finish that’s so pretty! The kit also came with a really beautiful shimmery bronzer. Just a drop or two in the applicator, and it made me look like I had spent the afternoon in the sun.

And, in addition to foundation, eye shadow and blush, you can use the system to apply self tanner. 

So cool!! 

There are also Luminess eyeshadow kits in all sorts of beautiful shades! 

And Luminess is giving away an eye shadow kit in addition to the Pro System!!  

Yay!!

It may seem like this is complicated and time consuming, but it actually saves me time. I can put my makeup and blush on in just a couple minutes. And I was also really happy with how easy it is to clean. All I had to do was add a few drops of water into the applicator, and the water goes through the stylus and cleans it out.

I also LOVE the pretty silver pouch that comes with the system. It’s so cute! And such a great way to store the system — so handy when I travel!

{I made a vlog of myself demonstrating the system, but I am having technical difficulties with it, so I will get it up here as soon as I can!!}
